June Ishtar Jako

June Ishtar Jako is an Assyrian Australian writer, mother, and grandmother. Born in Baghdad, she migrated to Australia under the humanitarian program in 1984. Her maternal grandmother, Khana Khnaneesho, and her husband, Aziz, barely survived the Assyrian genocide of 1915 (Seyfo) by Ottoman Turkey. June shares their story in this video.
